The 2025 Oscar nominations are almost here.
The Oscars is one of the biggest events in the award show calendar and honors the best in acting and film. Today, two hosts were announced to reveal the 2025 Oscars nominations.
The Oscars will take place in March and the nominations will be announced on January 23 at 8:30 AM ET and 5:30 AM PT. The Academy announced the hosts on their X account.

Last year, the Oscar nominations announcements were hosted by actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid, also on January 23.
The actors announced the nominees across eight categories, and then 15 other categories later in the day.
This year, there has been lots of talk about the 2025 Oscars nominations and the subsequent delays caused by the California wildfires, which swept across the state from 7 January onwards.

Who is hosting the 2025 Oscars Nominations?
The nominations will again be announced by a duo, but not by a duo of actors this time. This announcement live show is hosted by two comedians.
The Academy announced the hosts today on their X account.

Comedians Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott are set to host Thursday’s live event. The event will be streamed across Hulu, Disney+, ABC, and the Oscars’ websites.
Who is Rachel Sennott?
Rachel Sennott is a comedian and actress. She rose to fame as a comedian by working in the New York open-mic circuit. She had a gig on the comedy show It’s a Guy Thing. In acting, she has also starred in a fair few movies. Some of her work includes the comedy Shiva Baby, the horror comedy Bodies, Bodies Bodies, and 2024’s Saturday Night. In 2024, Sennott was working on an idea for a comedy pilot which she sold to HBO in March 2024.
Who is Bowen Yang?
Like Sennott, Yang is an actor and a comedian. In 2024, he appeared in Wicked playing Pfannee, one of Glinda’s good friends before she became Glinda The Good. Yang’s big break came in September 2018 when he joined the writer’s room on Saturday Night Live. In the show’s 45th season, he joined the on-air sketch cast. Since 2019 he has hosted a podcast with fellow comedian Matt Rogers, Las Culturistas, a pop culture and comedy podcast.

When are the 2025 Oscars?
Because of the wildfires, the 2025 Oscars have been delayed. Fear not, the show is still scheduled to take place on March 2. Late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien is hosting the show.
