The 2025 Oscar nominations will be revealed on Friday 17 January 2025. This is a week later than last year’s announcement and just a few short weeks before the 97th Academy Awards takes place on Sunday 2 March 2024

Last year’s nominees were announced on Tuesday 23 January, live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

While unconfirmed, it’s likely that the same venue will be used for the 2025 Oscar announcements.

At the time of writing, we don’t know who will unveil this year’s nominations but it’s usually two actors. Last year, Jack Quaid and Zazie Beetz revealed which films were nominated.
