Warcraft’s 30th Anniversary is going to hit differently this time, A Major surprise for players who always envisioned having a house in the game is waiting ahead- Player Housing Coming in 2025.

A Long-Awaited Feature

Over the years players have been requesting developers to bring the perfect housing into the game so they can own it like the rest of the installments with the same feature- Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 4, Minecraft, and more.

While speaking to PC Gamer, Ion Hazzikostas- WoW Director said,

“Yes, Blizzard is bringing players homes to the MMORPG”

Blizzard unveiled updates for the iconic game series in a special “Warcraft Direct” presentation. A teaser displayed an adventurer stepping inside a cozy place, walking towards a fireplace and before settling down he grabs the tankard.

On the wooden tankard “Home Sweet Home” is crafted, and it ends with “Your next adventure begins at home.”

However, this feature will be available in the upcoming WOW expansion – Midnight. Although this is quite early to announce Hazzikostas couldn’t resist dropping a hint,

“We want to give players a little sneak preview of some of what the team is cooking. This also gives us a chance, I think, to have more open conversations about it that aren’t possible when it’s a top-secret feature.”

A Satisfying Comeback

Well, this isn’t the first time Blizzard brought this up The Warlords of Draenor expansion introduced “Garrisons” but it couldn’t get enough players’ attention due to limited customization and it wasn’t up to the expectations.

Afterward, fans didn’t get to hear about anything pertinent to housing until now. As Hazzikostas mentioned,

“It’s an idea that’s been kicked around for a long time—but we knew that to do it, we needed to be able to do it right. It’s a tremendously large undertaking. We’ve also been able to develop enough underlying technology that supports the system that we can now see a clear path to delivering this to players.”

Now fans are eagerly waiting for late summer to witness Blizzard’s new direction for World of Warcraft.
