- The game promises to bring back fan-favorite features.
- Four studios are collaborating to ensure the game meets fans’ expectations.

EA and DICE aim not to let the history of mistakes repeat, doubling down on their efforts to deliver a standout experience with Battlefield 6.
Extensive Playtests: Shaping Battlefield 6
Recently revealed that developers are working on the extensive playtest for the game and focusing on gathering an unprecedented amount of player feedback and data, according to Insider Gaming.
This rigorous testing phase signals that the studio is determined to avoid the shortcomings of the previous launches and the criticism that came along. EA is all set to adopt a “Player-first” approach.
It involves taking frequent feedback from players to fulfill their ultimate goal—launch a polished, engaging title that caters to the expectations of long-time fans. In the past, Battlefield 2042—released in 2021 instantly changed gamers’ excitement into disappointment.
Bugs, missing features, and an overall displeasing experience made fans feel like developers rushed the game into the market. Despite initial optimism, the game quickly became one of the worst-reviewed titles on Steam that year.
Reflecting on this, IGN reported, an EA representative recently stated,
“Battlefield 2042 wasn’t a failure of a game despite not doing as well as hoped” The team really spent a lot of time learning how to adapt it and getting things back.”
Moreover, he mentioned:
“EA doesn’t want a repeat of the experience it had with 2042. We want it to be good out of the gate.”
Key Features Driving Fan Expectations
To ensure success the studio plans to recapture the essence of games through a “back-to-basics” approach — the comeback of the 64-player battles feature, a class-based system, and a large-scale destruction.
Furthermore, as per reports, the game will also introduce a free-to-play Battle Royale mode. With four studios—DICE, Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect—collaborating on the project, out of all series Battlefield 6 seems to have the highest level of resources, boosting players’ expectations even more.
While there is still enough time in release—anticipated for 2025, the current momentum suggests that this new installment will cover all the loopholes from the previous series.
