- Production has begun on season 2 of Fallout
- Season 2 is expected to pick up straight after the events of the season 1 finale
- Macauley Culkin is reportedly joining the cast for season 2

Production has begun on season 2 of Fallout, Prime Video’s adaptation of the hugely popular sci-fi videogame series.
The first eight-episode season of Fallout was a huge success on Prime Video when it aired earlier this year. The show, created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet is based on the role-playing video game franchise. The show garnered 16 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
Here is all we know about what might be coming up in the second season.
What’s it all about
The show is set in 2296, more than 200 years after an apocalyptic nuclear war, which left survivors taking refuge in fallout bunkers known as Vaults. When a young woman leaves her vault to look for her kidnapped father in the wasteland of what was Los Angeles, she meets a variety of characters, all with their own agendas and pasts.
Season 2 is set to pick up directly after the events of the finale of season 1, and the storyline will likely focus on the Vaults again.
Who is in Fallout season 2
Stars of the first season including Ella Purnell (who played Lucy MacLean), Aaron Moten (Maximum), Kyle MacLachlan (Hank MacLean) and Walton Goggins (The Ghoul/Cooper Howard) are all expected to return for season two.
Macauley Culkin is also set to join the cast for season 2. Deadline reported that Culkin is set to play a ‘crazy genius-type character’ in the show. However, little else is known about his role.
When is Fallout season 2 available?
We have no date for when it will appear on Prime Video as yet. Likewise, there are no trailers or first-look images available as yet – but these will come as production advances.
With production only just beginning, it is likely that the show won’t appear until some time in 2026. The first season took eight months to shoot, and it spent a longer time in post-production – so it is not quick to produce.
There are believed to have already been talks about a season 3 for the show, but it has yet to be greenlit.
