Hazelight Studios, the renowned developer behind the award-winning It Takes Two, is gearing up to unveil its next big title at The Game Awards Show on December 12, 2024.
A Decade of Co-op Mastery
The studio has planned to steal the show’s spotlight for a few moments to surprise their fans with a new game. The community is elated with joy. After director Josef Fares shared a video teasing the upcoming launch, promising gameplay footage of their next co-op adventure.
The studio has earned a great reputation for delivering unique cooperative experiences. Their first installment— A Way Out, set the stage with its innovative split-screen mechanics, resulting in an outstanding success rate.
Furthermore, the game It Takes Two, released in 2021 with EA collaboration and declared as the game of the year, makes it clear that the studio has old prosperous ties with the Games Award Show.
Split-Screen Revolution Awaits
Now, with its 10th anniversary on the horizon, the studio is ready to captivate players once again. However, developers began to drop pertinent hints earlier this year. In October, Josef Fares shared an X post, including a cryptic message: “brand new IP” with the title partially hidden: “S**** ******N.”
Fans instantly speculated and decoded the name as Split Faction. Further excitement was added by the studio through sharing an image featuring diagrams of split-screen gameplay.
As per reports, it will introduce the dynamic screen transitions— Horizontal, Vertical, and Diagonal. The recent teasers have highlighted more intriguing details.
Fares mentioned a “big boss” players will encounter and other two characters, Mio and Zoe, whose names are inspired by his daughters. This information makes it clear to some extent that another co-op-focused gameplay is on the way.
Still, there is more of it, that fans are not aware of, eagerly waiting for the Award show to go live on December 12. Not only Hazelight but the other installations— Borderlands 4, will be launching the detailed trailer.
