Has there ever been a more highly anticipated game than Grand Theft Auto 6? Fan of Rockstar Games’ iconic franchise have been waiting for years for the next instalment, so understandably when a post about the game comes out, it sends fans crazy – to record levels.
So when Rockstar Games’ official account on X (formerly Twitter) dropped news that in early December it will release the first trailer for the next game, it understandably went viral instantaneously.

Within six hours, the tweet (are we still calling them tweets?) had been viewed more than 85 million times and was the number one trending subject in 14 countries and getting top 10 in many more.
Indeed, it has now become the most like gaming tweet in history, garnering more than 1.5 million likes.
Of course, this record may not stand for long. If Rockstar keep their promise and put out a trailer in December, then expect a monster reaction from the worldwide gaming community. It has been 10 years since GTA 5 was released, so understandably its legions of fans across the world are hungry for the next instalment.
GTA 5 is the second-highest selling video game of all time with more than 190 million copies sold and worldwide revenue of about $8 million.
