Rapper Snoop Dogg, almost as famous for his love of weed than for his music, has given an update to fans after his shocking statement that he was giving up smoking, and it appears that all was not as it seemed.
Many fans took Snoop at his word when he announced he was giving up smoking in a post last week, taking it to mean he was giving up his weed habit – which has been as high as 80 blunts a day, according to an interview he gave to GQ magazine in the UK in 2023. However, a new post reveals it was all part of a marketing campaign for a smokeless fire pit.
In a newly released video, Snoop said: “I know what you’re thinking: Snoop! Smoke is kind of your whole thing! But I’m done with it.
“Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I’m going smokeless.
“Solo Stove fixed fire. They take out the smoke. Clever.”
The rapper then proceeds to roast marshmallows over the fire pit.
Fans have since taken to social media, with some expressing how they never believed Snoop was giving up – he is the man with his own professional joint roller, after all – while others are disappointed that he wasn’t setting an example for others to quit.
It should be noted that smoking cannabis can increase the risk of developing physical health conditions such as lung cancer. Overuse of the drug can also cause mental ill health such as anxiety, paranoia and hallucinations.
