Everyone knows and loves Terry Crews – but who is Terry Crews’ wife?
Crews has been a Hollywood comedy veteran for years, starring in hits like Norbit, White Chicks, and Everybody Hates Chris.
Crews is also known for his role as the loveable but stern Lieutenant Terry Jeffords in the police sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But recently Crews isn’t trending because of a role he’s done or something he’s said, he’s trending because of his spouse. The people want to know who Terry Crews’ wife is.
Crews’ personal life isn’t usually the focus of his public persona. However, Crews and his wife have a sweet story. He met Rebecca King when they were both young – he was a college sophomore and she was a music minister at a local church he attended. His bride also attended West Michigan University where he studied.
However, it wasn’t a star-crossed love story between Crews and King. In 2018 King dished to E! that her husband “almost got stuck in the friend zone”. She claimed this was because he was a “little too nice”. Yikes. Everyone has been there, stuck in the dreaded friend zone.
Although they are a low-key couple, that makes us all the more curious about Crews’ wife. So here’s what you need to know about her.
Who is Terry Crews’ wife Rebecca King?
Rebecca King Crews was born on 24 December 1965 in Benton Harbor Michigan. She spent her childhood in Gary Indiana. At around 15 years old, she was a pageant girl. The future Mrs Crews won the prestigious title of Miss Gary at the Miss Indiana Pageant in 1984.
On Instagram, she enthusiastically remembered her achievement in 2017. The 59-year-old shared a photo of herself in a sparkly red dress with a crown on her head.
Who are her parents?
King is the eldest child in her family and was born to Samuel Dean King and Anne Mae Parks. Her parents were an interracial couple. She has a younger sister Elizabeth Jane and a brother Samuel Taylor. King’s father died when she was young in 1972. Previously she dedicated a sweet tribute to him on Father’s Day. Her father was a musician like she is, he was a multi-instrumentalist and her mother used to be an opera singer.
In adulthood, she has remained close to her mother and even wrote a heartwarming birthday tribute for her in 2021.
She wrote: “My flashback Friday is dedicated to my beautiful mom! Happy birthday Anna Banana – you are a national treasure.”
What does Terry Crews’ wife do?
As we previously said, King was a music minister in her youth. She has continued her musical journey and is also a singer. The degree she studied was in music theatre, fitting for the musical talent she’s gone on to have.
In 2014 she released her first single, Can I Stay, although she decided to use a stage name to get honest opinions on her music. She used the name Regina Madre. Very sexy sounding, to be honest.
Her first album Regina Madre was released in 2021 with the singles Never Be The Same and What You Wanna Do? The artist’s biography on Spotify describes her as an “adult contemporary R&B artist”.
In addition to singing, she writes and produces music for her music production company Honeybear Music Publishing.
When did she and Crews marry?

The young love birds married on July 29, 1989, when King was 23 and Crews was 20. They married one day before his birthday on July 30. The two celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2019 with a huge party at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
They reflected fondly on the experience, and are still going strong with 35 years of marriage under their belts.
On their 34th wedding anniversary, Crews’ wife posted a touching tribute to her husband and their union.
She shared a picture of the two kissing and said: “Just a little recap of me, and @terrycrews Anniversary Celebrating 34 years. Baby, you’re still the one!”
How many children does she have?
The couple have five children together. Crews’ wife had a daughter, Naomi, from a previous relationship who Crews adopted officially after they got married. Aww. Together the couple have three daughters, Azriél, Tera, and Wynfrey, and one son, Isaiah.
Azriél and Isaiah have followed their father’s career path into acting.
King’s path to motherhood wasn’t easy though, she sadly suffered three miscarriages. Her husband previously spoke about his wife’s miscarriages to PEOPLE.
“Me and my wife, we know what it’s like to lose a child,” he said.
The actor continued, “We’ve had three miscarriages. It’s one of those things where it was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just, it’s a way to process these things.”
King has faced lots of trauma

Aside from miscarriage, the singer has faced breast cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in 2020, although she beat the disease. Later she opened up about the harrowing time: “Though it was Stage 1, you’re overwhelmed with fear, like cancer is this all-consuming, all-powerful evil entity,” she said. Just before COVID-19 hit, she underwent a double mastectomy.
Before her cancer, as Crews’ wife, she faced rumors of him cheating on her in 2010. Shockingly he admitted to her he had cheated and had an addiction to adult content. On his cheating, Crews said his wife “knew”. On Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, he claimed that King “knew the whole time”. Ouch.
King is not just Crews’ wife, she’s a businesslady
King isn’t just a singer; she’s also a business owner. In 2021, she launched her clothing line, Rebecca Crews, also known as Rebecca Crews Luxury. The brand’s mission is to “create an experience for our customer that is inspiring, fulfilling, and altogether modern in its approach to customer service,” as stated on the website.
As a mother of five, she shared the inspirations behind the brand, including her mother, who influenced her love of suits through her suit-filled wardrobe.
King’s search for a comfortable tuxedo for an event, which led to her frustration over the lack of options, ultimately inspired her to create the brand. The line’s signature items include suits and tuxedos, but it also offers handbags, shoes, belts, blazers, and more.
Wow, what a woman.
