Over all these years Call of Duty’s matchmaking system—SBMM has been a topic of debate among players and they have always stayed curious as Activision has kept the players skill ratings hidden.

Curtains Have Been Lifted from Hidden Skill Ratings

But not anymore as a renowned YouTube—TheXclusiveAce has shared a trick that how players can finally access detailed information about their performance and hidden skill ratings.

TheXclusiveAce unveiled the method through which players can get their gameplay data and stats. Here is how they can do it, players are required to make their way to Activision’s privacy support page and submit a personal information access request.

By logging in and placing the request for demanded data or stats and can receive a detailed datasheet within a day or two via email. This information includes data from multiplayer games dating back to Call of Duty: Vanguard in 2021.

The data sheet provides detailed insights regarding each multiplayer match, including stats like hits landed, damage dealt, longest kill streak and more. But the real element that catches everyone off guard is the skill rating for matches that stayed hidden all this time.

How SBMM Works: Insights and Factors Behind the Algorithm

TheXclusiveAce explained how skill ratings fluctuate based on gameplay. Certain factors are mentioned that create impact on this rating: leaving the matches frequently can bring it down for temporary span of time.

Another intriguing point noted by the YouTuber was that the skill rating isn’t solely determined by kill-to-death ratios. In some cases, even high K/D ratios led to a decline in skill rating. This highlights that the matchmaking system or algorithm considers multiple factors.

However, Activision has let players know about the workings of SBMM. According to the company, the system evaluates a player’s overall performance using different metrics like the deaths, number of matches players’ wins and losses, and their playing pattern.

The main goal is to maintain the balance in the matchmaking process, ensuring that the gameplay experience isn’t unfair for anyone. While accessing skill ratings is a fascinating development, questions remain about how these numbers compare across the player base and what influences the algorithm.

Now players can deeply analyze these stats to understand the mechanism behind the SBMM, helping them improving their gameplay strategies. Whether you are a seasoned player or a new warrior this access will offer players a new perspective of the Call of Duty.
