- But when will Bond 26 hit our screens?
- Here’s everything we know about the next 007 film…

It’s been a long time since we last got our 007 fix – but is Bond 26 on the way any time soon?
The spy series released its last movie back in 2021, with No Time to Die being the last movie to feature Daniel Craig as the famous character.
But when will Bond 26 – which will be, you guessed it, the 26th movie in the film franchise – be released, and who is in the running to replace Craig and play 007?
Read on to find out everything we know about the latest James Bond movie…
Do we have a release date for Bond 26?
As of yet, there is no release date for Bond 26.
Back in September 2022, co-producer Barbara Broccoli told Variety that the movie will be “a couple of years off”.
Of course, 2024 has already passed us by, and at this stage, a 2025 release date seems unlikely.
However, once things get moving, Bond movies can be made fairly quickly – so perhaps Bond 26 will happen in 2026?
What will Bond 26 be about?

At this stage, your guess is as good as ours.
But no Bond movie is complete without 007 himself, plenty of bad guys, a high-tech Astin Martin and a martini – shaken not stirred.
What happened in the last James Bond movie?
Hitting theaters in 2021, No Time to Die followed yet more of Bond’s antics.
The secret agent had left active service with MI6 and was living in solitary retirement in Jamaica, when he is recruited by his old ally Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) to help save a kidnapped scientist (David Dencick) from a villainous plot to use some dangerous new technology.
Along the way, Bond is reunited with his former love Dr Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), old adversary Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Christoph Waltz), and his old MI6 allies Q (Ben Whishaw), Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris), Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear) and M/Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes).

With the help from some of these old faces and some new ones – including 00 agent Nomi (Lashana Lynch) and Cuban agent Paloma (Ana de Armas) – Bond attempts to take on the evil Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek).
However, things quickly turned south for Bond – and for the first time on screen, the agent was killed off.
Making it to Safin’s island, where he had travelled to save Madeleine Swann and his daughter Mathilde from the villain’s clutches, Bond also sought to destroy Safin’s base entirely before the baddie could enact his plan of world domination – using nanobots to infect millions of people around the world.
Bond is able to open the large missile silos that will allow MI6’s missiles to destroy the base, and it seems like his work is done – until a dying Safin reveals he has infected Bond with new nanobots that mean he will kill Madeleine and Mathilde if he so much as touches them.
After realising his fate, he ignores Q’s demands to get off the island and instead asks him to let him speak to Madeleine. They speak about their love and their daughter, just before the missiles are launched straight into the island – presumably killing him instantly.
The film ends with two separate scenes paying tribute to Bond – one in which his MI6 colleagues raise a toast, and one in which Madeleine begins to tell their daughter about his story. “I want to tell you about a man,” she says. “His name was Bond, James Bond.”
Who will play 007 in Bond 26?

At this stage, no one knows who will be the next James Bond.
With Daniel Craig stepping down from the role in 2021 after 15 years, plenty of names have been floated as to who will be the next star to step into his shoes.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a firm favorite to play the role, as is rising star Paul Mescal.
Theo James, Damson Idris and Callum Turner have also been floated as potential 007s.
