- Bill Belichick commented on Eli Manning’s 2025 NFL Hall of Fame candidacy
- Manning is on a shortlist of 15 candidates for induction in this year’s class
- Eli won two Super Bowl rings and two Super Bowl MVPs during his career

Bill Belichick may have traded hoarding Super Bowl rings for college football success after deciding to become the University of North Carolina Tar Heels head coach, last month, but the former New England Patriots boss still has a lot to say about the NFL. Including this year’s prospective Hall of Fame class.
Making his final appearance on the Manningcast with Eli and Peyton Manning, the six-time Super Bowl winning coach commented on Eli’s candidacy for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame, of which Eli is part of a 15-man shortlist for potential induction.
Manning, who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants at Belichick’s expense, was also named MVP for his performances against the Patriots in 2008 and 2012. Manning still holds the Giant’s all-time passing record (57,023 yards) and passing touchdown record (366).
But, despite Manning’s two wildly famous Super Bowl victories over Belichick’s Patriots, the new UNC head coach had nothing but positive things to say about the Ole Miss alum. Well, apart from his taste in hoodies.
"Eli you don't look that good in a hoodie, but you will look great in a gold jacket. I'm sure that's gonna happen and you deserve it so much."

“Eli, you don’t look good in a hoodie,” Belichick joked, referring to the cut-off hoodies Eli and Peyton had chosen to wear to honor the head coach, “but you will look great in a gold jacket. I’m sure that’s gonna happen and you deserve it so much.”
Manning is part of a 15-man shortlist for this year’s Hall of Fame class of modern era players, alongside the likes of Reggie Wayne, Terrell Suggs, Eric Allen, Jared Allen and Antonio Gates. The 2025 class will be unveiled on February 6 at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, La, ahead of the Super Bowl on February 9 at the Superdome.
