South Korean gaming giant Krafton Inc. has shared an intriguing vision for 2025, aiming to redefine its place in the growing gaming industry.
Krafton’s Next Big Step
During the 113th town hall meeting, titled Krafton Live Talk on January 16, CEO Kim Chang-han presented the company’s long-term plan under the theme Krafton’s Next 5 Years: Franchise IP.
Krafton owns a number of studios, focusing on 14 of these, and is behind renowned games, one of which is PUBG: Battlegrounds; despite the current success, it is looking forward to developing more games like PUBG. According to CEO Kim mentioned by Krafton Press,
“Our new titles will officially launch starting this year,” We are committed to securing a new ‘Big Franchise IP’ that builds on the success of ‘PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ and look forward to driving exponential growth in corporate value through this step-by-step approach.”
The company also has plans to bring change in the publishing strategy by adopting the Second Party Publishing (2PP) which means Krafton will join hands and work with other studios to enhance the fan base of existing and new installments.
Not only this, but it aims to expand gaming across a variety of platforms. Furthermore, the impressive vision includes the revamping of the management system, which will ensure the allocation of enough resources that will be required for game development.
Innovative Strategies and AI Integration
This optimization will help the company achieve sustainable growth while maximizing the potential of its most competitive IPs. Currently, Krafton has a value of $10 Billion USD, and this plan seems to bring more revenue.
The incoming games like inZoi reflect the company’s commitment towards achieving the end goal, previously revealed the inclusion of AI companion in PUBG and inZoi. These will be the co-playable characters, entirely different from the NPCs, offering a sense of real companionship, communicating with players, helping in matches, and locating the resources.
This highlights its effort to bring creative and advanced in-game technology. It’s not all about staying prosperous; Krafton has faced challenges as well; the game The Callisto Protocol had a setback.
Still, Krafton continued to move forward and grow. The recent partnerships, such as creating the mobile version of the following games, Dark and Darker and Palworld, showcase its determination to maintain its as a dominant Force.
Now, fans are equally thrilled to see how Krafton is going to shape the industry and what distinct they can expect from the company.
