- The artist shared photos of him in the studio
- Bieber hasn’t released an album since 2021
- He’s been out of the spotlight lately due to health issues

Justin Bieber’s been away for a while – but 2025 might just be the year he returns to music.
The artist shared some new photos on Instagram which seemed to confirm he was back in the studio, holding a mic and wearing headphones.
Not long before that, Bieber posted a brief clip of a demo in which he sang over the top of an acoustic guitar, “I’m takin’ it/ You takin’ bait/ I’m shakin’ it/ You’re shakin’ it/ Shakin’ off the hate.”
Bieber was also reportedly in the studio in October. On top of this, singer Mk.gee revealed to the New York Times that he was working with him on new material as Bieber “searches” for his new era.
A long time coming?
Rumours had already been swirling about Bieber returning to music and embarking on another world tour.
This was amplified by a report by Puck News’ Matthew Belloni, which suggested Bieber was working on new material and needed to return to work for financial reasons. The cancellation of the Justice Tour in 2022 and 2023 also proved rather costly.
“I’m told Bieber needs the money and wants to work,” Belloni noted.
Why has Bieber been away so long?

Bieber hasn’t released an album since 2021’s Justice. He’s taken time out of the spotlight since he revealed in 2022 that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome.
Ramsay-Hunt syndrome, according to the Mayo Clinic, “occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of your ears”. The condition had temporarily paralysed the entire right side of Bieber’s face.
“As you can see this eye is not blinking,” he said in a video at the time. “I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
Bieber said that he needed to take “time to rest, relax.”
As a result, Bieber’s Justice world tour, which would have taken place between 2022 and 2023, was cancelled. However, if the rumours are true, he could soon be back on the road.
Indeeed, last year Bieber suggested his condition had improved. He shared an Instagram story in which he looks from side to side, moves his eyebrows up and then smiles, which he previously hadn’t been able to do.
He also welcomed his first child, Jack Blues, with wife Hailey in August. Bieber has also since parted ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun.
