- Jayden Daniels has inspired the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship Game
- Rookie quarterback has had an incredible debut season in the NFL
- Brady heaped praise upon Daniels during recent appearance on Let’s Go podcast

Jayden Daniels’ rookie season in the NFL has, so far, been pretty much a fairytale. The 24-year-old quarterback has inspired the Washington Commanders to their first NFC Championship game in 34 years and made the Pro Bowl in his first season. Oh, and he also has the most rushing yards and highest pass completion rate for a rookie quarterback in history.
And as if this laundry list of achievements wasn’t enough, the Heisman Trophy winner now has seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady singing his praises.
During a recent appearance on the Let’s Go podcast, the former New England Patriot compared the confidence and poise of Daniels to a young Tiger Woods, in a quote shared by the Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala.
“How do we really evaluate confidence? How do we evaluate poise? Because some people have it. The moments aren’t too big for them. They look at the challenge and they think about, ‘Man, this is gonna be amazing when we go out and beat these guys.’ And other guys look at the challenge and go, ‘Oh man, I really don’t want to mess up.’ And I think that fear of failure… keeps them from the ultimate confidence that they have in themselves, which allows them to grow to their maximum potential.
“So, even though Jayden Daniels is just a rookie, he has that poise and confidence. Imagine… a young Tiger Woods. He had never proven on the big stage that he was ready for those big moments in the Masters in ’97, but he had proved that to himself in all those junior amateurs that he won, that he didn’t care who he was playing. It was him versus him.”
Up next for Daniels and the Commanders, following their stunning 45-31 victory over the Detroit Lions in the Divisional round, is a trip to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game. The last time Washington advanced this far into the postseason, Nirvana were releasing Nevermind. With Daniels’ rookie season fully in bloom, he and the Commanders will be hoping there’s not something in the way of their route to the Super Bowl after this weekend’s trip to Pennsylvania.
