Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans who are eager to dive into the game’s origin story, Ubisoft has something exciting to offer.

A New Assassin’s Tale Begins

It announced that the prequel manga would provide a story regarding the events that happened before the Shadows, making it clear for players to understand the whole narrative.

The twist here is that fans living in Japan will be able to grab it first with the launch of the game on March 20, 2025, while players all over the world will have to wait till the official release date gets confirmed.

Recently, the story trailer of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has also been released; the game involves two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, and is set in Japan, the feudal era.The combination of these two characters adds a variety to the gameplay, offering both stealth and samurai Play style.

Although through the story trailer, players have got the idea of what they can expect, this prequel manga is going to add depth to this world by introducing a young Assassin; Ubisoft mentioned in X post,

“#AssassinsCreedShadows will get its own manga! Discover the official prequel of the game. Follow the story of a young Assassin apprentice as she fights against the growing presence of the Templar order in Japan. Available in Japan at the launch of the game and later elsewhere. “

From Pages to Gameplay: The Prequel That Sets the Stage

However, it appears this character is not Naoe, who is portrayed as the fictional daughter of a real-life historical figure in the game; also, at the initial stage of her journey, she isn’t aware of the war going on between Assassins and Templars at the beginning of her journey.

This suggests that the manga’s main character can be someone new. Besides this what else has made fans more curious is the manga’s cover page, showing a single female character, contrary to the Assassin’s Creed Shadows leading characters.

Even in the tweet Ubisoft mentioned the new lead as “a young Assassin apprentice,” which hints that the story will be about the individual main personality.”

The prequel manga isn’t the only thing that has hyped up fans. An official art book recently leaked online showcasing character designs, locations, and more intriguing content. Now fans are more thrilled to know about the game before it gets relevant officially.

Despite the fact that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has faced a number of challenges and multiple delays, it is now set to launch on the official date. Ubisoft has utilized this time to make fixes and address the concerns that were raised by the community, ensuring that it may be released seamlessly.

The company’s fate is now solely dependent on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and only time will reveal if the game’s launch will be in the favor of the company or if things may take a different turn.
