- Saturday Night Live celebrates half a century on air next week
- The first special guests have been confirmed
- Some of them are part of the Five Timer Club

We’re just a week away from Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary extravaganza and more details are slowly emerging.
Of course, we can expect the event to bring plenty of huge names, as was the case for the show’s 40th anniversary special in February 2015. After all, you only get a 50th anniversary once.
While producers have largely kept their plans for the special a closely guarded secret, we now know who some of the guest stars will be. Here’s what we know about the stars of the show so far…
Who has been confirmed for the special?

So far, according to the Hollywood Reporter, we know we are set to see Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro and Sabrina Carpenter.
The show is also welcoming several members of the Five Timers club – celebrities who have hosted the show five times. These include Tom Hanks (who originated the bit back in 1990), Steve Martin, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Simon, Martin Short and Woody Harrelson.
More guests will be announced in the coming days.
Where do I watch the 50th anniversary special?
The show will air live across time zones on NBC and Peacock on Sunday, February 16 – yes, a Sunday rather than a Saturday – starting at 8/7c, 5pm PT.

There will also be a glitzy red carpet event taking place prior to the show starting.
What will happen in the special episode?
According to NBC, this three-hour extravaganza will be the “crown jewel of a big weekend of events highlighting the trailblazing sketch series’ rich history.” A trailer has already been released.
Other Saturday Night Live programming will be scheduled, with the channel teasing “a weekend-long look back at the late-night sketch series.” However, at the time of writing, nothing official has been released.

So far, we know that the special will feature a half-century worth of sketches, cast members, Hosts, and other collaborators from both the past and the present.
If the 40th anniversary special in February 2015 serves as any kind of guide, we might see multiple people step in to host in different segments of the show.
