Euphoria season 3 has got all the relevant wheels in motion after more than three years since it last aired.
Production on Sam Levinson’s HBO drama began in January, and the eight new episodes are due out in 2026. Due to the magic of passing time, it will be set four years after the second series finale. Also, it would probably be quite weird to make them all teenagers still. After all, the fast-forward move to college is a teen drama staple.
With this jump in time, questions have circulated about who is returning. Icons like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and others are all signed on, but some aren’t coming back for many reasons.

Here are the stars who aren’t coming back to Euphoria season three
Barbie Ferreira
Barbie Ferreria announced that she was “tear-eyed” to be leaving behind the character of Kat so won’t be returning to Euphoria season three back in August 2022.
Angus Cloud
Angus Cloud will not be returning to play Fezco, as he was tragically found dead in August 2023 following an accidental overdose. His passing prompted an outpouring of shock and grief and is sorely missed by the Euphoria family.
Dominic Fike
Dominic Fike has been ruled out in any official capacity, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be on set for the third series to play Elliot again. He told Variety in 2024 he doesn’t “really talk” to any of the cast after dating Hunter Schafer – who plays Jules – but thinks doing so would be “dope”.
Javon Walton
Javon Walton won’t be back after his character Ashtray died in a police shootout in the season two finale. However, it gives him time to work on his boxing career.
Storm Reid
Storm Reid isn’t reprising her role of Gia, Rue’s little sister but went on record to say how “excited” she is for the new episodes in her resignation announcement in November last year.
Austin Abrams
No word of confirmation has been given about Austin Abram’s return, but seeing as he played Kat’s boyfriend, Ethan, it feels pretty safe to assume he’s not in Euphoria season three.
Nika King
Nika King won’t return to the show to play Rue and Gia’s mom. No word if this was mutual, but she went viral on TikTok for a stand-up bit about how she needed it to come back for her bank balance.
“People are like, ‘We need Season 3.’ I’m like, ‘B***h, I need Season 3. I haven’t paid my rent in six months,” King told the crowd.
