No doubt GTA 6 is the most anticipated release of 2025, but Take-Two has discussed more its other games like Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The old Country.

Borderlands 4’s Release Date Impact on GTA 6

As the date of release of Borderlands 4 has been announced by Gearbox in the PlayStation’state of Play, that is 23rd of September, fans are looking forward to the release of GTA 6, which is scheduled in fall 2025. With the Borderlands 4 announcement, Take-Two has potentially narrowed this window.

Since the developers of Borderlands 4, Gearbox Software, and the developers of GTA, Rockstar Games are both owned by Take-Two Interactive, it is very unlikely that Take-Two will compete with itself.

Some other games have also been considered for delayed release by their developers, like EA has openly discussed about postponing Battlefield 6. The release of GTA 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is scheduled in fall 2025, while for GTA 6 PC, it is assumed that it will be released in late 2026.

Take-Two has maintained this stance since last May, repeatedly assuring its fans that the game won’t be delayed under any circumstances, but it has not stopped many fans from assuming otherwise.

Will GTA 6 Stick to Its Fall 2025 Schedule?

The suspicion arouse because when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s order of listing suggested that Borderlands 4 would be released after GTA 6, probably in late November or near Christmas, but now the Borderlands 4 has an official date of release, some fans speculate about the delay in the release of GTA 6.

Another reason being the fact that Take-Two will not schedule two of its major releases so close, as GTA 6 is on a completely different level. A fan wrote that a late November or early December release makes more sense,

As the holidays will be approaching, keeping the spotlight fully on GTA 6 and maximizing its holiday sales. Releasing it to close to Borderlands 4 would only cause unnecessary overlap in marketing and scheduling.

Zelnick believes that GTA 6 will boast the sales of consoles, as they have recently mentioned that the game will skip PC for now and will release on consoles platforms, following the traditional pattern.

Rumors and Details on GTA 6 remain extremely limited, with only one trailer released so far. However, Rockstar will likely reveal more soon, finally ending a decade of speculation.

Fans are thrilled to know the game is getting closer, after months and months of searching for any new details.
