- At the time, White Chicks was critically panned
- Planned to be the next movie for the brothers after Scary Movie 6

With unlikely sequels all the rage, the Wayans brothers have hopped on the bandwagon and have said there are plans for a White Chicks 2.
Yes, there are plans for a sequel to the controversial, critically-panned yet oddly successful movie – it took more than $100 million at the box office – that saw two black FBI agents disguise themselves as wealthy white women to avoid them being abducted by gangsters.
Marlon Wayans broke the news on Good Morning America, talking about the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, where he and the rest of his family were inducted into its Hall of Fame.
“I think its time,” Marlon said. “Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’ll go bring on the White Chicks 2.”
What was White Chicks about?
White Chicks saw Marlon and Shawn star as FBI agents Marcus Anthony II and Kevin Copeland – recently disgraced after bungling a drugs bust – who must go undercover on a job to protect two wealthy young white heiresses from a kidnapping plot by accompanying them on a weekend-long fashion event.
But when a car accident on the way leaves the sisters with minor facial injuries, they refuse to be seen in public. Kevin then hatches a plan to use prosthetic disguises so the agents and take the place of the heiresses.
This leads to comedy and many cases of mistaken identity. But the bungling agents do uncover who is behind the plot and manage to foil it.
Despite being critically panned at the time – and arousing controversy – White Chicks nevertheless performed well at the box office, grossing $113.1 million and has since become a cult classic, of sorts, with fans loving the outrageous humor in it.
Long wait for White Chicks 2
However, there could be a long wait for White Chicks 2. As mentioned, the brothers – Marlon, Shawn and Keenan Ivory – are currently involved in making Scary Movie 6. They are writing the script currently, and the movie has a current release date of June 12, 2026. Here are the movies that the Scary Movie reboot absolutely needs to spoof.
So if they don’t start working on it until after that, it could be late in the decade before it would hit theaters. That’s of course if they get a script together, a studio that will release it etc.
