Skyler White Named Most Hated TV Character Of All Time
Breaking Bad’s Skyler White has been named the most hated TV character of all time in a poll, beating competition from baddies from the likes of Game of Thrones and Naruto to the dubious title.
The poll of members of Pubity’s broadcast channel were asked for their most hated characters and Skyler White – wife of Walter White in US drama Breaking Bad – came out on top. Skyler, played by Anna Gunn, was an integral character throughout the six seasons of Breaking Bad, as Walter’s marriage to her first broke down, but then she became increasingly embroiled in his criminal activities, but later sought to protect her family from him.
Behind Skyler came Sakura Haruno, a female ninja from Japanese manga series Naruto and Joffrey Baratheon, a sadistic monarch from Game of Thrones.
The notoriously brutal Game of Thrones provided the most characters for the top 10, with Ramsay Bolton placing 5th and Cersei Lannister coming in 7th.
Other members of the top 10 included the Memezar admin from The Pubity Show – you guys! – in 4th place, Toby Flenderson from The Office in 6th, The Governor from The Walking Dead in 8th, T-Bag from Prison Break in 9th, with Todd Alquist from Breaking Bad rounding out the top 10.
What is perhaps surprising is that Skyler White isn’t an actual ‘baddie’ in Breaking Bad – and there are plenty of characters to choose from in that respect – but more the character who go in the way of Walter, the anti-hero of the show.
The character received hate at the time the show aired – which confused Gunn and Bryan Cranston, who played Walter – and even though the show finished some years ago, it seems that hate hasn’t dissipated.
Neither is Sakura a baddie – she is the female lead on the show and friend of the eponymous hero, although she does reject his romantic advances for another character.
