Next year’s Oscars will air live on ABC. It will start at 7pm ET and 4pm PT.

2025’s event saw the Oscars stream live on Hulu. While it remains unconfirmed, it is possible that the ceremony will also be accessible to Hulu customers in 2026.

Meanwhile, viewers in the UK were able to watch the 2025 Oscars ceremony live on ITV. As such, it is very possible that the same channel will host the event next year.

Oscars introduce new category in 2028 – Best Stunt Design

On 10 April, it was announced that there is a new category for awards being introduced in the 2028 Oscars, the 100th award show. The Best Stunt Design category has finally been added to the awards list!

“We are proud to honor the innovative work of these technical and creative artists, and we congratulate them for their commitment and dedication in reaching this momentous occasion,” The Academy’s CEO, Bill Kramer said of the new award.

The new category was aided by David Leitch, the director of The Fall Guy, as Leitch’s career started as a stuntman.

Unfortunately, this is where our 2026 Oscars insight ends. With 2025’s awards season only just wrapping up, it’s still a little to early to tell who might nab nominations for next year’s event.

In fact, we don’t even know when nominations will be revealed. However, it’s usually in early January, shortly before the event itself.

Until then, all we can do is keep our eyeballs stuck to cinema screens to try and identify the outstanding performances and must-see films that might make it into next year’s critically praised lists.
