Drake didn’t come out of last year’s beef with Kendrick Lamar in an especially positive light. If there was a winner at all, it was easily his rival, earning one of the biggest hits of his career with Not Like Us. Even if you’d never heard a Lamar song in your life, you may have heard that one – or at least, the infamous “A MINORRRR!” hook.

Not Like Us contained a raft of allegations, including that Drake was a pedophile, which he strongly denies. Nonetheless, the “A MINORRRR!” line still made it into a huge national broadcast when Lamar performed it during his Super Bowl half-time show.

The Canadian rapper’s reputation might have taken a hit, but the question remains as to whether that’s translated to a dent in his net worth. But how much is he worth – and could it drop?

According to Billboard, Lamar’s diss tracks alone earned him $13.4 million. Although he wasn’t paid for his Super Bowl performance, he still enjoyed a huge boost in his streaming numbers.

However, his overall net worth is considerably lower than Drake’s.

Drake’s contract with Universal Music Group is worth $400 million alone. His music career is his most lucrative stream of income, but he has also has several businesses.

Since 2012, he has owned a record label, OVO Sound, home to artists such as PartyNextDoor, Roy Woods, and Majid Jordan. The brand also included a clothing brand. Drake’s collaborations with brands like Nike (through his Nocta line) and has a huge £100million endorsement contract with Stake, the crypto-gambling platform.

Meanwhile, his real estate investments and his own private jet, Air Drake, are reportedly valued at $185 million.

Has there been a drop since Not Like Us?

For now, that remains to be seen. The main thing that could impact Drake’s net worth post-feud is the lawsuit he filed against universal Music Group earlier this year.

Drake is suing UMG for defamation, harassment and sharing the “false and malicious narrative” that he is a pedophile.

Filed in the U.S District Court for the Southern District of New York, the legal move comes a day after he took back the petition he filed against Universal Music Group, his label of the last 15 years.

The documents, seen by Variety, outline how Drake asserted that Lamar’s lyrics and imagery in the music video were false and inflammatory.

It argues the label “chose corporate greed over the safety and well-being of its artists. In controversy” and “saw an opportunity, seized it and continued to fan the flames.”

Lamar is not a plaintiff in Drake suing UMG. The fault is firmly placed at the music giant’s feet.

“This lawsuit is not about the artist who created Not Like Us. It is, instead, entirely about UMG, the music company that decided to publish, promote, exploit, and monetize allegations that it understood were not only false, but dangerous,” the papers state.

Last week, UMG sought to dismiss the lawsuit. The label said in a legal filing that the rapper’s lawsuit is a “misguided attempt to salve his wounds” after he “lost a rap battle that he provoked.”
