Kristen Bell has spoken about what’s coming next in Nobody Wants This as filming begins on the show’s second season.

First coming to Netflix last September, the romantic comedy proved an instant hit. It received particular praise for the chemistry between its unlikely romantic interests, rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and agnostic sex podcaster Joanne (Bell).
Production is now beginning on second two, and Bell talked about how things are looking in a new interview.
“It’s great. I’m here. I’m literally in my trailer right now, and it’s amazing,” she told Elle. “This is when I will depend most on my sleep dupe, because during shooting, sometimes you don’t get a lot of sleep.”
“I was so genuinely excited that she said yes”
Fans were thrilled when Leighton Meester was announced to be joining the cast. She has major connections with both of Nobody Wants This’ leads – she is married to Brody and co-starred in Gossip Girl with Bell.
Commenting on whether working with Meester felt like a reunion, Bell said: “Yes and no, because I always recorded that show from Los Angeles. “I never recorded it in New York, so I was never on set with any of them. It felt like we were in two different worlds. But I do know her socially, and obviously through Adam [Brody, Meester’s husband and Bell’s Nobody Wants This co-star], and I was so genuinely excited that she said yes, because she’s just such a lovely person.”
She added: “We had our table read the other day for the episode she’s in, and she is fantastic.”
Meester is playing Abby, Joanne’s middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.
What else is new for the next season?
On March 4, it was announced that Arian Moayed and Alex Karpovsky will be joining the cast.

Succession star Moayed will play Dr. Andy – a charming psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Joanne’s sister and podcast co-host, Morgan (played by Justine Lupe).
And Noah’s complicated relationship with Joanne won’t be the only thing causing him a headache – as Girls actor Karpovsky will play Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple.
The second season will premiere later this year.
