After a period of vague uncertainty, the Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse release date has finally be confirmed.

The news was made official at CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this week. Here, fans were told that they can expect to watch the movie when it hits screens on 4 June 2027.

This concluding part of an animated Spider-Man trilogy follows up Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which was released in 2023. Beyond The Spider-Verse’s 2027 release slate means audiences will have waited four years to see Miles Morales’ story conclude.

Animation directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson take over this time around. They inherit the story from Joaquim Dos Santos Kemp Powers who helmed part two alongside Thompson.

CinemaCon crowds were also shown some early footage from the movie, with Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales insisting that he’s taking things into his own hands in order to round out his story.

“Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go,” explained Miles in the clip shown at CinemaCon.

“I’m gonna do my own thing.”

Why was Beyond The Spider-Verse delayed?

This isn’t the first time that Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse has been given a release date.

Initially, the movie was set to debut in 29 March 2024, just a few short months after the release of its predecessor Across The Spider-Verse.

As a little refresher, that movie left audiences on a cliffhanger, with Morales stuck in an alternate New York that has no Spider-Man. Meanwhile, a multiverse-version of himself is now operating as the sinister villain the Prowler. All this happened while Miles’ Spider-Man was doing battle with a multi-verse tampering bad guy known as the Spot.

The movie was pushed to July 2023 due to fallout from the Hollywood strikes and many of its voice cast being unavailable to record lines.

Shortly afterwards, it was pulled from Sony’s release calendar altogether, leaving many wondering when – or if – they’ll get to see the finished movie.

Is there a trailer?

Sadly, there is no trailer available for Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse just yet although now that its release date has been confirmed, we’ll hopefully get one soon.

The movie is expected to star Moore as Morales, with Hailee Steinfeld returning to voice Gwen Stacy AKA Spider-Woman.

Meanwhile, Across The Spider-Verse featured the voice talents of Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ dad Jeff, Jake Johnson as an alternate Spider-Man and Jason Schwartzman as the villainous Spot.
