The Baba Yaga is back, as John Wick 5 officially gets the green light with franchise star Keanu Reeves returning.
The news was confirmed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this week. As noted in multiple outlets, Reeves will reteam with franchise co-creator and director Chad Stahelski for a brand new instalment of this hugely popular action series.

The news follows months of speculation on Wick’s future. Anticipation for his return was only heightened when news broke that Wick would have a cameo appearance in this summer’s spin-off movie Ballerina.
Set between the events of John Wick 3: Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, the movie will see a new assassin played by Ana de Armas cross paths with the Reeves infamous killer.

“Keanu, Chad, Basil and Erica would not return unless they had something truly phenomenal and fresh to say with these characters and this world,” explained Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson while sharing the news.
“We can’t wait for audiences to see where the journey takes us next.”
Naturally, fans can’t wait either – with one unexpected John Wick fan coming out of the woodwork to voice the question on everybody’s lips.
What did Kanye West say about John Wick 5?

Taking to the social media platform X, Kanye West AKA the rapper better known as Ye, decided to take a break from sharing his usual controversial posts to ask a big John Wick questions.
Fair warning: some mild John Wick spoilers lurk below…
“Wait.
“I don’t understand how he coming back from the dead,” posted Ye, referencing the character’s fate at the end of 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4.
The now-infamous musician continued to compare Reeves’ character with Art the Clown from Damien Leone’s splatter series Terrifier.

“Like I liked Terrifier more before he became a mystical character,” added Ye, referencing the seemingly unkillable qualities of Terrifier’s bloody antagonist.
For those unaware, Reeves’s John Wick seemingly met his end at the climax of the most recent John Wick instalment. After battling numerous villains, Wick succumbed to his injuries before audiences were shown a gravestone featuring his name.
Despite this dramatic conclusion seemingly putting an end to Wick’s days as a hitman, fans have been wondering if he could return ever since the credits on John Wick: Chapter 4 finished.
How did fans react?

For the most part, many of Ye’s fans were a bit angry at him for spoiling the franchise.
“Damn dude I never saw part 4 wtf,” said one user.
“YE I HAVENT SEEN THE 4TH MOVIE YET YOU SUPPOSED TO SAY SPOILER ALERT,” yelled another, in all caps.
Another suggested that Wick’s dog gave the game away during the final moments of Chapter 4.
If you watch the end of John Wick 3, there’s a scene where they’re walking away from the funeral and his dog’s ears perk up. He only did that when John was around. It was subtle, but it’s there.
