Sydney Sweeney will star as women’s boxing icon Christy Martin later this year.

And now the actor, 27, has landed another prestigious role – as the Grand Marshal of the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s Parade of Champions.

The event will honor 35 legendary greats from the sport from both the United States and abroad take to the streets of Canastota, New York, on Sunday June 8 to celebrate this year’s group of inductees.

Sweeney – who will also produce the biopic about Martin – will lead the parade.

“I am thrilled to be named grand marshal of the International Boxing Hall of Fame Weekend Parade of Champions,” said the Euphoria star.

“I’ve become close to the sport of boxing by portraying Christy Martin and bringing life to her incredibly inspiring story. Now I’m thrilled to be leading the parade featuring so many great champions in ‘Boxing’s Hometown’ Canastota, NY.”

While it will be Sweeney who leads the ceremony, Martin is also thrilled by the announcement.

“The news that Sydney Sweeney will be this year’s International Boxing Hall of Fame Weekend Parade of Champions Grand Marshal has me over the top excited,” Martin added.

“I was so honored to be the Grand Marshal in 1996 and now for Sydney, who just completed the movie about my life, taking on the honor to lead the parade for 2025 is big news and I’m thrilled!”

Sweeney will be joined by a host of boxing legends, including Micky Ward, Michael Spinks, Amir Khan and Hall of Fame broadcaster Jim Lampley as well as Martin.

The Class of 2025 to be honored includes Manny Pacquiao, Vinny Paz and referee Kenny Bayless among many others.

Elsewhere, Sweeney has been fighting big battles in her personal life – after calling off her upcoming May nuptials to Jonathan Davino, 41.

The actor reportedly called time on their seven-year relationship after she wasn’t ready to settle down and “didn’t feel right” about the marriage.

Sources also added that Sweeney’s “mind is very much on work” – with a whopping six upcoming projects in the pipeline.

The pair were spotted having lunch together in LA this week – but an insider told People, “This wasn’t just a relationship. This was two people living together and planning a future. They still have things to figure out.”
