Anne Hathaway is one of Hollywood’s best-loved stars.
But her talents don’t stop there – as the actor, 42, can also sing.
Winning an Oscar in 2013 for her portrayal of Fantine in the movie musical Les Misérables, Hathaway has frequently proven that she is a talented vocalist.
But fans couldn’t help but be taken aback this week, when Hathaway shared a video online – of her singing the Arsenal FC anthem, The Angel (North London Forever).
In a bizarre move, the Devil Wears Prada actor celebrated the English’s team’s defeat of Real Madrid with her rendition of the tune – all while wearing the soccer team’s shirt.

Fans went wild for the video online.
“We have Anne Hathaway singing North London Forever and rival fans think we care that they don’t like it,” wrote one.
Another continued, “This must be what love feels like.”
And while some begged bosses to “invite her to come and sing at the next home game”, others cleverly referenced one of her most famous movies, The Princess Diaries.
“Arsene Wenger coming out of retirement to manage Genovia in the Nations League,” they joked.
Anne Hathaway gives other fans ‘the ick’
However, not everyone was impressed – and many found the video cringeworthy.
“Is this what getting the ick feels like?” questioned one, as another went on, “Now I know what women mean by ‘the ick’.”
Others harked back to the infamous Gal Gadot-initiated video of celebrities – including Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan and Will Ferrell – singing along to John Lennon’s Imagine.
“Remember that f***ing ‘Imagine’ singalong video all those celebs did during 2020?” wrote one person. “Yeah, this is up there alongside that in terms of cringiest s*** I’ve seen a celeb post.”
Anne Hathaway is a longtime Arsenal supporter
While the video may not be to everyone’s taste, it’s not the first time that Hathway has supported Arsenal.
Last season, the actor went viral when she was spotted celebrating Leandro Trossard scoring against Wolves.
Trossard subsequently sent Hathaway a video message, and said, “Hey Anne, I really loved your celebration the other day for my goal.
“Keep supporting us, and hopefully we’ll see you soon at the Emirates.”
Hathaway watched the video with her The Idea of You co-star and fellow Arsenal supporter Nicholas Galitzine, and said she was “shaking” after Trossard had got in touch.
