- TikTok influencer sparks a reaction after dining at Nobu
- Eye-watering bill covered two omakases, one Red Bull, sake, and two waters
- “Girl, none of us can even afford groceries” – TikTok user

A social media influencer has sparked a massive reaction after sharing details of her $1,000 lunch at Coachella.
Adelaine Morin, who has 1.1M followers on TikTok, posted the video that begins with her walking through the festival site to join the line for a pop-up of the iconic restaurant Nobu.

The influencer, 27, explained that the dining experience was reservation only, before realising that she accidentally booked her reservation for the music festival’s second weekend instead of the first one.
However, she was able to “work it out on the backend” since she’d already paid in full, with no opportunity for a refund.

Morin is seen taking a seat on a row of stalls inside the Nobu that overlooks the Quasar stage. Her voice-over reveals it’s an Omasake style menu and that everything was preselected for them already.
“The chef picks for you and it’s $350 per person, plus 22 percent included gratuity” she reveals.
“Also, if you show up late, they’ll give you a Bento Box to go, and you can’t even eat it here,” she added.
No regrets
In the clip, Morin shows a copy of her receipt, totaling a jaw-dropping $945.57, for lunch for herself and a friend. The bill covered two omakases, one Red Bull, sake, and two waters.
Despite the princely sum, the influencer insisted the once-in-a-lifetime Michelin-star lunch “was such a fun experience” and one that “she doesn’t regret a bit”. She also noted that if you time the reservation right you can be eating Nobu while artists are playing on stage, before pointing towards the stage where Tiesto is seen performing.
Morin captioned the TikTok video with, “Worth it in my opinion, what do you think?” – which sparked a wave of criticism.
“Girl none of us can even afford groceries let alone coachella let alone NOBU AT COACHELLA”

The video, which has since gone viral with over 1.6M views, has sparked plenty of raised eyebrows and criticism from other TikTok users. Many called out her apparent disregard for the growing struggles people face due to the rising cost of living.
“Girl, none of us can even afford groceries, let alone Coachella, let alone NOBU AT COACHELLA,” commented one user, while another quipped, “You do know people have been having a hard time buying eggs, right babe?” Another user added, “Would I ever? Girl, I can barely afford rent…”.
Morin occasionally responded to comments and defended herself replying to one user with “God forbid a girl catches a vibe at a sushi restaurant and vlogs it”.
One person commented that they’d find a better way to splash $1,000, saying “Looks like a fun experience, but I think I would rather take that 1k and buy a plane ticket to Japan and have sushi there instead 🍣 😅”.
Elsewhere, others kept their comments brief but sharp, with blunt responses like “Read the room, babe 🥰” and “No, hope this helps. 👌”.
Coachella is held in Indio, California and runs across two weekends. It attracts more than 100,000 music lovers each year.
Tickets for the festival this year started at $649 for the first weekend but were slightly lower for the second at $599. VIP tickets, meanwhile, cost upwards of $1,199.
