- The Pope died on Easter Monday aged 88
- It relates to Trisha Paytas being pregnant
- She gave birth for the first time just after the Queen died

It’s hard to believe that the Pope and Trisha Paytas could be talked about in the same breath, but anything is possible on the internet.
There’s a wild theory among social media users relating to Paytas’ pregnancies. These have coincided with the deaths of major figures. Some have joked that they have passed away to be reincarnated as Paytas’ baby.
The theory dates back to September 2022, when the Queen died. Paytas gave birth to her first child just under a week later. Strangely, similar things have happened with her subsequent pregnancies.

Paytas is pregnant currently, with her third child due in July 2025. Given this has coincided with the death of the Pope, the theory has been resurrected (no pun intended) all over again.
“I just remembered Trisha paytas is pregnant… Welcome back, pope”
Unsurprisingly, there was a flurry of jokes and memes on X in the wake of the Pope’s death as people realised Paytas was pregnant again.
“why does something historic happen every time Trisha Paytas is pregnant,” one X user questioned, while another wrote: “Oh my god I just remembered Trisha paytas is pregnant… Welcome back pope.”
Someone else said: “If I had a nickel for every time a very old major leader had died immediately after meeting a far-right conservative while Trisha paytas was pregnant I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.”

How did the Pope die?

The Vatican revealed via video statement that he died on Easter Monday after delivering his last ever Easter message and recovering from a bout of double pneumonia.
“Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7.35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church,” Cardinal Kevin Farrell also posted on X.
He continued, “He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.”
Later, the Vatican confirmed that his cause of death was a cerebral stroke which put him in a coma followed by heart failure.
His funeral will take place on Saturday (26 April).
