However, she stepped back for a reason, and Pubity did some investigating as to why Bynes left the spotlight.
Why did Amanda Bynes say about quitting Hollywood?
Bynes explained her departure from the industry to Paper magazine in 2018. The move came after she was horrified by herself in the 2010 movie Easy A, a reimagining of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter starring Emma Stone.
“I literally couldn’t stand my appearance in that movie and I didn’t like my performance,” she said.
“I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it.”
Bynes revealed that she was high after smoking pot prior to the film’s premiere, so that might have clouded her judgment.
“I saw it and I was convinced that I should never be on camera again,” she added.
Did she ever say something else about a role making her unhappy?
Bynes shared that she fell “into a deep depression” after dressing up as the man in the 2006 movie She’s The Man.
In modern-day Shakespeare, she played twins Viola and Sebastian.
What has Amanda Bynes done recently?
After dealing with a series of serious mental health and substance abuse issues, Bynes is back in the spotlight for what seems like a positive reason!
The former actress joined the subscription service site OnlyFans. Stereotypically, it is used to allow people to sell adult content, but Bynes isn’t doing that. Instead, she is using it in a much more wholesome way as fans can now pay $50 a month to message her.
“I’m only OnlyFans now! Disclaimer: I’m only doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through DMs. I won’t be posting any sleazy content. Excited to join,” she wrote on Instagram.
