Beginning her life on kids’ TV programmes like All That, Figure It Out and Blue’s Clues, Bynes shot to superstardom when she got her own Nickelodeon sketch comedy series, The Amanda Show. Following this, the actress went on to star in a string of movies, including What a Girl Wants, She’s the Man, and Sydney White.

Bynes explained her departure from the industry to Paper magazine in 2018. The move came after she was horrified by herself in the 2010 movie Easy A, a reimagining of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter starring Emma Stone.
“I literally couldn’t stand my appearance in that movie and I didn’t like my performance,” she said.
“I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it.”
Bynes revealed that she was high after smoking pot prior to the film’s premiere, so that might have clouded her judgment.
“I saw it and I was convinced that I should never be on camera again,” she added.
