Jiggly Caliente, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race US and judge on the Philippines edition, has died at the age of 44.

Caliente was suffering from the complications of a serious infection and recently underwent surgery that removed most of her right leg. As a result, she would have had to miss the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines.

“Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light”

Her family confirmed in a statement that she had passed away. “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente. Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.”

The statement continued: “A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light. Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered.”

Jiggy Caliente’s life and career

Born in San Pedro, Philippines, Caliente took her drag name from the Pokemon character Jigglypuff. She competed on the fourth season of Drag Race US in 2012, placing eighth. After becoming a fan favorite, she returned to compete on All Stars 6, where she placed 12th.

She joined the judging panel of Drag Race Philippines in 2022, which she was a part of for three seasons.

Away from her TV and drag career, Caliente released her debut album T.H.O.T. Process in 2018. 

Caliente came out as transgender in 2016.
