The cutest moment happened over Mother’s Day weekend, when a mother and son graduated from the same college together. Hats off to these two, as they both graduated from Texas Christian University on 9 May.

Sweetly, the mother and son duo wore matching Nike trainers as they posed for photos. They both attended one of the first ceremonies for TCU’s graduate students.

TCU’s Neeley Business School Instagram account proudly posted a photo of the mother and son’s achievement.

They wrote in an Instagram caption, “Double the achievement, double the pride. 🎓💜”.

The two who graduated together from the school’s Neeley Business School were Brandi and Kyle Fields.

In the Instagram video, the proud mother says, “My name is Brandi Fields, and this graduation season I’ll be cheering on my son in my own cap and gown as I’m getting my executive MBA.”

Afterwards, her son Kyle says, “I think this is going to be a special graduation because not very many people get to say they graduated with their parent. Especially at a Master’s level.”

Brandi added, “And not very many people get to say they graduated with their son, so it’s a proud mom moment”.

The duo were elated to be graduating together

In an interview with CBS, Brandi said, “When we found out the graduate programs were in the same ceremony, that’s when it really hit home that we were going to really, truly be doing this together”.

Kyle, 22, received his master’s in liberal arts while Brandi, 50, received an executive MBA.

“When she was deciding to come back to school, especially at TCU, I couldn’t be more excited,” Kyle said of his mother.

Brandi and her family packed up and moved closer to Kyle in Texas. They did this following the death of Brandi’s mother in 2020.

Reflecting on her decision to attend her son’s school, the mother said that her friends thought Kyle would be unhappy with the idea. However, it was the opposite.

“When I see her come home from work and she’s doing her homework right away, I’m like, ‘I’ve got to follow in her footsteps,” Kyle said.

Kyle’s mother feels the same way and says the two kept each other motivated throughout their studies.

“To walk the stage together, especially on Mother’s Day weekend, is an incredible and meaningful moment for our family,” Brandi shared in an interview with the university.

We are all crying.
