President Donald Trump called Taylor Swift “no longer hot” on his Truth Social platform. Trump, 78, made the scathing post on 16 May about Swift, 35.

For context, the first post relates to Swift’s prior endorsement of former Vice President Kamala Harris, who ran against Trump in the most recent election.

After that, he declared he hated the singer.

“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump said in his recent post.

Unsurprisingly, it isn’t the first time Trump has blasted Swift. Because after dissing her endorsement of Harris, he poked fun at her again.

When the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl in February against Swift’s boyfriend’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, Trump namedropped her.

Currently, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, 35, is a tight end for the Chiefs.

“It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning, in the first quarter of the big game, which I was there for, I watched in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out?” Trump said in a press conference.

For context, Trump was not mocking Swift randomly, he was making a joke during the Eagles’ visit to the White House.

But where is the shade coming from now?

Notably, the 78-year-old did not elaborate on why he was shading Swift this time. The Karma singer is rarely vocal on her political views, but did endorse Harris in a post on Instagram.

In September 2024, she wrote in the post, “Recently, I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Then, Swift announced she would be voting for Harris and Tim Walz for Vice President. The 35-year-old praised Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader”.

Also, she praised Walz’s advocating for “LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body”.

To conclude the post, she urged fans to conduct research and urged first-time voters to cast their votes early.

Has Trump addressed Swift before?

A few times. Strangely, he has praised the singer before. He told a co-editor at Variety that Swift was “strangely beautiful”, but remarked that she is “liberal” as part of an Apprentice book.

Overall, he has not had a positive view of the singer in recent times. He has name-dropped her on a few occasions.

However, Swift has not publicly commented on the post yet.
