Kanye West and Ty Dollar $ign’s much-delayed ‘Vultures’ album has finally been released on TIDAL.
The album was originally slated for release last year but was repeatedly delayed. A single from the album, ‘Talking/Once Again’ was released on February 8. To celebrate the launch Ye – as West now prefers to be known – and Ty also hosted a listening party in Chicago.
Vultures has been beset by difficulties, not least after Ye made a series of anti-semitic remarks last year, which saw a number of collaborators, including Nicki Minaj, pull out of the project.
Ozzy Osbourne also refused to allow Ye to use a sample of his band Black Sabbath’s classic anthem ‘War Pigs’ on a track. The veteran rock and reality TV star said in a statement put out overnight on X (formerly Twitter) that Ye’s remarks had caused “heartache” and that he wanted “no association with this man!”
Ozzy’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, identifies as Jewish.
But nevertheless, the sample from a live performance of 1983 song Iron Man was included by Ye. What action the Osbornes take next remains to be seen.
It also seems that Ye is unrepentant about the remarks he made last year, which has seen much of his support evaporate. At the listening party, it is reported Ye said: “I’m still crazy, bipolar, antisemite. And I’m still the king!”
At this point, the live stream of the listening party was cut.
Vultures is now available on TIDAL, but, at the time of writing, is not available on streaming sites such as Spotify or Apple Music.
