Netflix has announced the cast for its much-anticipated live-action reimagining of the classic animated show Scooby-Doo – but where have you seen them before?

Scooby-Doo is one of the most beloved animations of all time. The show, which debuted way back in 1969, has had many different iterations and reboots over the years (we won’t talk about Velma) but has delighted generations with the story of four teenagers and their dog who travel around solving mysteries. As you do.
While those of a certain age will remember the early noughties live-action movies of Scooby-Doo, which starred, among others, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Mathew Lillard, there hasn’t been another attempt at a real-life version for about 20 years. Until now.
Netflix announced some time ago that it was developing a live-action version of the beloved show and now, after months of rumours, the streamer has announced the main cast list as well as a logline for the show.
McKenna Grace had already been confirmed as taking on the role of Daphne Blake, but now it has been revealed that Tanner Hagen will play Norville ‘Shaggy’ Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson will be Velma Dinkley and Maxwell Jenkins will take on the role of Fred Jones.
As per Variety, the series will tell the story of how the Mystery Inc team got together initially. It starts with old friends Shaggy and Daphne in their final summer at camp getting involved in a mystery where a lost Great Dane puppy may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Along with local Velma and new kid in town Freddy, Shaggy and Daphne set out to solve the creepy case – one that threatens to expose their own secrets.
