While the Apple Vision Pro was launched amid much hype on February 2, 14 days on, and some of those initial buyers are planning to take their sets back for a refund, with several complaints cropping up.
Those initial buyers have until the end of today to take the sets back and get a refund with the 14-day period that Apple has for users to return products.
There are several reasons being cited by users for wanting to return the headsets, including that they are uncomfortable to wear and trigger headaches and motion sickness. The weight of the device – and the front-loaded nature of it – has also been mentioned.
One user on X said it was “probably the most mind-blowing piece of tech I’ve ever tried” but then added that he couldn’t “deal with the headaches after 10 minutes of use.”
This comment is fairly typical: while there are complaints about the Apple Vision Pro, very few are to do with the technology itself. Many praise it for what it does – although there have been some saying there is a lack of a killer app currently – and enjoyed using it.
There are also concerns over the price, which, at $3,500 is out of the range of many people.
Another common theme among returnees is that they would be open to trying future generations of the Apple Vision Pro, with the hope that, with more time and development, some of these initial issues will have been ironed out.
Of course, we know about many of these people planning to return their sets because they are vocal on social media, so it is difficult to gauge what proportion of initial buyers will be sending their sets back, and whether it is in line with Apple’s expectations.
