The bear is coming back! Ted, the foul-mouthed teddy bear that came to life and causes havoc wherever he goes, is returning for a second season, Peacock has confirmed.

While originally billed as an ‘event series’ Seth MacFarlane’s Ted was always likely to come back for a second season after the success it has enjoyed. Peacock has said the series is its “most-watched original title to date.” It was also the top original streaming comedy in the US for more than two months after it debuted in January, according to Nielsen. The show has also been a hit in other countries, such as Australia and the UK.

However, apart from confirmation of a second season, few other details have been revealed. While we know that season two will be a continuation from season one, that is about it – there is no confirmation of which members of the cast will return so far. There has also been no word on how many episodes will be in the second season – there were seven in the first – or when they will air.

Ted the series was a prequel to the films released in 2012 and 2015. Set in the early 1990s, it follows a teenage John Bennett – a younger version of Mark Wahlberg’s character from the films – and his adventures with Ted, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, including going to high school, and the problems that brings with it. Ted, with his no-nonsense attitude, as well as penchant for beer, swearing and daytime TV, tries to navigate his way through life and teach John a little along the way.
