- Oreo and Lucasfilm have partnered for special edition Star Wars Oreo Cookies
- Two special versions of the iconic cookie have been produced to represent the light and dark sides
- Packs go on sale in June

Here’s a new twist on an old favorite – Star Wars and Oreo have come together to bring us two special editions of the iconic cookies – one representing the light side, and another for the dark side.
The special packs will have two versions of the cookie, representing the two sides of the Force. Light side cookies will come with blue crème, while dark side will have red crème. In both cases, the crème is infused with ‘kyber’ crystals – a nod to the crystals found in lightsabers – adding an element to the texture and flavor. To add to the fun, customers won’t know which one they have got until the open the packet.
Characters included
In addition, characters from Star Wars will be embossed in the chocolate, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. In all, there are 20 characters in the packs – 10 from each side of the Force.
The packs come in a striking design, featuring original character artwork by legendary illustrator Greg Hildebrandt, who has been a Star Wars poster artist since the 1970s.
Not long to wait
If all this has whetted your appetite, the good news is that you don’t have to wait long to get your hands on a pack. The special edition packs can be pre-ordered from May 30 on the Oreo website and hit shop shelves on June 10 – but be quick, once they are gone, they are gone.
This isn’t the oddest collaboration between food and iconic brands we have seen recently – last month, Crocs and Pringles launched a range of footwear inspired by the chip brand.
