Let’s-a go! Great news for fans of Mario, Luigi and all things Nintendo – Nintendo of America has announced its plans to open a second official store in the US in 2025.
The store will be in the iconic Union Square in San Fransisco and, according to Nintendo, will provide “a way for a wide range of visitors from near and far to experience the world of Nintendo, its products and characters.
The store, which will be officially known as Nintendo San Fransisco, will be the second official Nintendo store in the US. The other is in the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, New York.
First store
The Manhattan store, opened in 2005, covers 10,000 square feet over two floors and is a haven for Nintendo fans, selling all manner of merchandise, accessories and games.
Nintendo hasn’t released any further information about how big the San Fransisco store will be, or what will be in it, but has promised to reveal more in the coming months as the opening date approaches.
Other locations
While Nintendo does have a store at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Super Nintendo World, as well as at other theme parks, this new store will be the second stand-alone store in the US.
Nintendo has other stores around the world, most notably in its home country of Japan, where it has stores in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
One of the items on sale in the new store could be the Switch 2. The successor to the immensely successful Switch is thought to be being launched in early 2025.
