- Dave Grohl made headlines last weekend when he criticized Taylor Swift at one of his shows
- The Foo Fighters star accused the Shake It Off singer of not performing live
- But Grohl may have had good reason to start a feud with Swift…

They were once firm friends.
But it seems there is now Bad Blood between Taylor Swift and Dave Grohl.
Thanks to some out-of-character catty comments from the Foo Fighters rocker, 55, at the band’s London Stadium show on Saturday night (June 22), the pair are now locked in a feud.
After the crowd booed when Grohl – who has previously been a vocal supporter of Swift – noted that Swift was playing one of her Eras Tour shows just 20 miles away at Wembley Stadium, the former Nirvana star was prompted to make the comments.
“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift. We like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’. We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f***ing errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live.
“What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock & roll music, right? You came to the right f***ing place.”
Of course, Swift was quick to respond to Grohl’s words.
The Karma singer, 34, addressed her audience the following night, and said, “Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s going to be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously – we will never forget it.”
Grohl ‘diverts attention’ from his daughter
While some might think that Grohl’s remarks were uncalled for, there may have been good reason for them.
Back in January, his 18-year-old daughter Violet came under fire from Swift’s fanbase, after she criticized the singer’s unnecessary use of private jets.
“Why can’t Taylor Swift just drive like everyone else,” she wrote via Twitter/X.
Violet was allegedly sent death threats for daring to call out Swift – and the singer did not speak up or ask her fans to stop the bullying.
“Wow I wonder what prompted Dave Grohl to take a little swipe at Taylor Swift? I’m sure it’s totally unprovoked & not at all to do with his 17-year-old daughter being relentlessly trolled & sent death threats from Swifties because of this totally innocuous tweet back in January,” one user wrote.
Another added, “I just KNOW Dave Grohl jokingly poked fun at Taylor Swift because her stans decided to send death threats to his daughter for speaking up about her unnecessary use of her private jets.
“He’s made that comment so the hate is directed at him to divert attention from his daughter.”
So while we’re not saying a verbal attack was the right path of action, Grohl may be a contender for Father of the Year…
