On June 22, former child star Thomas Brodie-Sangster married his now-wife Talulah Riley.

The actor, now 34, burst onto our screens in 2003, when he played the adorable hopeless romantic Sam in Love Actually.

Beginning your career as the on-screen step-son of Liam Neeson is hard top, but Brodie-Sangster has gone on to star in several hit movies and TV shows – including the Queen’s Gambit opposite Anya Taylor-Joy, and Game of Thrones.

Of course, Brodie-Sangster is far from the only child actor to still be in the business – so here are 10 celebrities who began their careers when they were still just kids…

Dakota and Elle Fanning

Okay, we know these two are sisters, but they both deserved a place on the list!

Dakota featured in ER at the age of six, and both Dakota and Elle – who was three at the time – starred in I Am Sam a year later.

Both would go on to have thriving careers, with Elle taking on the role of Catherine the Great in The Great, while Dakota has more recently starred in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Ripley.

Daniel Radcliffe

Everyone’s favorite wizard, Daniel Radcliffe made his name playing the titular character in the Harry Potter movie franchise when he was only 12.

Although it wasn’t his first role (he played a younger version of David Copperfield in a BBC adaptation, aged just 10!), Radcliffe has since hit the big screen in The Woman in Black, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and recently won a Tony Award for his part in the Broadway adaptation of Merrily We Roll Along.

Lindsay Lohan

Noughties rom-com royalty Lindsay Lohan began her career aged 10 on the television soap opera, Another World.

Going on to play twins Hallie and Annie in The Parent Trap a year later, Lohan’s dominated the 2000s movie scene with films like Mean Girls, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Just My Luck.

She also starred opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday – which was confirmed for a sequel last month.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse

While Cole and Dylan Sprouse may be best known for their roles as mischievous hotel-dwelling twins in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, they actually started acting at a much earlier age – both splitting a single child role in Grace Under Fire, while Cole also had a role as Ross’ son Ben in Friends.

Both have continued to act into adulthood – Cole most notably in Riverdale, and Dylan in Banana Split.

Drew Barrymore

Hurtling onto our screens as the adorable Gertie in Stephen Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial at the age of seven, Drew Barrymore went on to work on Charlie’s Angels, Scream, and Donnie Darko.

More recently, she has starred in the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet, and hosts her own successful talk show.

Kirsten Dunst

Not many child actors can say they held their own against Hollywood A-Listers Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, but a 12-year-old Kirsten Dunst did just that when she played Claudia in Interview With a Vampire – and bagged herself a Golden Globe nomination for the part in the process.

Since then, she has made a name for herself in movies such as Spider-Man, Marie Antoinette, Fargo, and The Power of the Dog.

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder made a name for herself as a gothic teen Lydia in the 1988 comedy Beetlejuice when she was 17 – but it wasn’t her first time on the big screen.

She’d actually already appeared in the rom-com drama Lucas two years earlier – and post-Beetlejuice, she would go on to star in Edward Scissorhands, Heathers, Little Women and Girl, Interrupted.

After a career hiatus, she returned to acting – and has most notably played Joyce Byers in the Netflix smash hit Stranger Things since 2016.

Ryan Gosling

One of the nicest guys in Hollywood, Ryan Gosling had his start in The Mickey Mouse Club aged just 13 – alongside fellow cast members Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.

Going on to break hearts in movies such as The Notebook and La La Land, Gosling took the world by storm last year when he starred as Ken in the Barbie movie.

Scarlett Johansson

Starting her career at the tender age of nine, Scarlett Johansson’s early roles included The Horse Whisperer and Ghost World – but it was her appearance in Lost in Translation that established her as an adult actor.

She received two simultaneous Academy Award nominations – Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress – for the respective roles of an actress going through a divorce in the drama Marriage Story and a single mother in Nazi Germany in the satire Jojo Rabbit , becoming one of the few actors to achieve this feat.

Johansson’s films have grossed over $15.4 billion worldwide, making her the highest-grossing box office female star of all time.

Kristen Stewart

Rising to prominence as Bella Swan in the teen vampire franchise Twilight, Stewart was cast alongside Jodie Foster in Panic Room when she was only 12.

She has acted in many roles since the vampire series that made her famous, including rom-com Happiest Season, and as Diana, Princess of Wales in the biographical drama Spencer – which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
