  • Globally, Deadpool & Wolverine has amassed an astonishing $438 million

Deadpool & Wolverine has made a monumental splash at the box office within just a few days of its release.

The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starring Marvel film has shattered numerous records, bringing in over $205 million domestically during its opening weekend.

This remarkable feat includes setting new benchmarks for the biggest weekend in July and the largest opening weekend for an R-Rated film of all time. Additionally, the movie achieved the top two spots for the single biggest day at the domestic box office in July and secured the biggest opening weekend of 2024.

Globally, Deadpool & Wolverine has amassed an astonishing $438 million, marking the largest R-Rated movie opening worldwide.

In celebration, Marvel Studios took to X with a clever nod to the film’s success. They shared an image of Hugh Jackman in his Wolverine costume recreating the iconic meme from X-Men: The Animated Series. In the meme, Jackman’s Wolverine is seen lounging with a photo frame showing that Deadpool & Wolverine is the #1 movie in the world.

Ryan Reynolds quickly joined in with his own X post, humorously mimicking the meme by holding up a photo of Jackman recreating it.

Worldwide, Deadpool and Wolverine is the biggest opener since Avatar: The Way of the Water. The movies also saw Marvel’s MCU movies smash $30 billion in total worldwide ticket sales. This makes it the top franchise in history.
