- Jake Paul has announced he will box in LA Olympics
- IOC yet to include boxing in the Olympics
- Jake Paul to fight Mike Tyson later this year

Jake Paul has announced to the world his solution for the paucity of medals won by the American boxing team at the Paris Olympics.
It’s Jake Paul, of course.
Yes, the YouTuber turned aspiring athlete has thrown his hat in the ring and told the world (or at least his podcast listeners) that he wants Gold as well as views at the 2028 LA Olympics.
He informed his fans about the good news this week – although failed to mention (or notice) that boxing is not part of the 2028 Olympics programme. The decision to include boxing will be decided next year by the IOC – so we’ll have to wait some time to see if his ambition becomes a reality.
The news comes on the back of an announcement this week that Jake Paul will fight none other than Mike Tyson in November this year. Pundits are calling it a boxing mockery, but if it happens no doubt 58-year-old Tyson will make short work of subduing 26-year-old Jake Paul early in the contest.
Nevertheless, the YouTuber was his usual modest self when addressing the ageing Tyson last week:
“Mike Tyson, you’re next big boy,” Paul said. “Sign the contract, 15 November on Netflix. 100 percent, it’s happening.”
“Mike, I love you, but this is my sport now, you’re a legend. You’re one of the two most famous boxers to ever lived, alongside Muhammad Ali, so I’m honoured to share a ring with you. But I want to take your throne.
