Even when he’s not trying to be funny, Steve Harvey still has his audience rolling in the aisles.

The legendary comedian and game show host left viewers dumbfounded as, during an episode of Celebrity Family Feud, he failed to recognise Marvel megastar Tom Holland.

Holland, of course, has become one of the most instantly recognisable and adored actors in the world over the last few years, having played Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2016, appearing in many of the biggest box office successes in history along the way, including the Avengers franchise. Not to mention he is also one half of a Hollywood power couple with Emmy Award winning, Dune starring, global phenomenon Zendaya.

Steve Harvey, however, was not aware of any of this. Somehow. During the August 6 episode of Celebrity Family Feud, Clay Aiken and Katharine McPhee Foster’s families were going head-to-head when the question was posedto Clay to ‘Name a famous Tom that a girl would love to go to the prom with’.

“Tom Holland” came Clay’s reply, which was met with cheers from the audience, but utter confusion from Steve.

“Who’s Tom Holland?” the host asked, staring at Clay blankly as he was informed of Holland’s glittering, box office smashing resume. Aiken then tried to soften the blow for Steve by adding, “Listen, it was the 15-year-old who came up with it! Don’t feel bad, Steve.”

Plenty of viewers are still having a hard time trying to wrap their heads around Harvey not knowing who one of the most famous movie stars in the world is, though, with the clip generating tons of comments on ABC’s official TikTok channel.

“Steve needs to get out more” one reply read, with another adding, “How does he not know Tom Holland?”

“Steve wanted someone to say Tom Jones” came another reply, while one commenter was not allowing the generation gap to become an excuse for Harvey not knowing who Holland was, saying “I’m 53 and immediately said Tom Holland. How does Steve not know him?”

Now, if we can somehow work this moment into a way in which to have Steve Harvey cast as the next Spider-Man villain and that be Tom Holland’s swansong as Peter Parker, that would be perfect. Your move, Marvel.
