- The Amazing Spider-Man star has denied rumors in a new interview
- Garfield, along with fellow Spidey Tobey Maguire, featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home
- There has been no confirmation that Spider-Man 4 will be made

Andrew Garfield, star of The Amazing Spider-Man, has denied rumors about his possible appearance in Spider-Man 4 in a new interview.
Rumors fill the void
With concrete news about the progress – or otherwise – of fourth MCU Spider-Man movie scant, rumors have proliferated on the internet. One persistent rumor is that Garfield’s Spider-Man will appear in the film.
Garfield, along with another famous movie Spidey, Tobey Maguire, both appeared as their versions of Spider-Man alongside the MCU version played by Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
However, speaking to IndieWire at the Toronto International Film Festival, Garfield denied he was involved. “I mean, like the internet is a big place,” he said. “I think there’s a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So you might have been duped, I’m afraid.”
While that sounds pretty certain, you have to remember that Garfield kept his appearance in No Way Home under wraps for months before the film was released.
No certainty
But it is by no means certain that there will be Spider-Man 4 at all. Speaking earlier this year, Holland said that writers were working on a script, but it would have to not retread any old themes.
“We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be,” he said. “But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.”
Later rumors have said that a new Spider-Man film could come out in 2026, as there is a film slated by Marvel to be released then, but it is currently untitled.
