- The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has given the public an update on her health
- She announced earlier this year how she had been diagnosed with cancer
- The Princess revealed that she had finished her treatment, and would be returning to some public duties

The world was shocked earlier this year, when Kate Middleton announced she was sadly battling cancer.
But in happier news, the Princess of Wales has now released a new statement, and said she will soon return to work following her treatment for the disease.
In a video released by Kensington Palace on September 9, the Princess, 42, can be seen with her husband, Prince William, 42, and their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.
As the short film plays, the Princess’s voice can be heard updating royal followers of her circumstances.
“Life as you know it can change in an instant,” Kate said. “And we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
She added, “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted.
“Of simply loving, and being loved.”
‘Staying cancer free is now my focus’
The update comes after the Princess’s absence from public life over the last few months.
In March, she was forced to make a statement, as fans worried for her wellbeing after she had not undertaken any public duties in the months beforehand.
Since then, she has only made two official appearances – once on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the Royal Family during the Trooping the Colour in June; and the second at Wimbledon the following month, where she presented a trophy.
Although fans may have been missing her face from royal outings, behind the scenes, she has continued working on projects, such as one on farmers’ mental health.
Describing the relief of chemotherapy ending after an “incredibly tough” nine months, Kate announced she will soon return to her royal duties – although she won’t be returning to work full-time.
She does, however, intend to join King Charles for a national service at the Cenotaph on November 10
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” the Princess continued. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.
“I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
