- Dog lovers went wild this week, after a TikTok video of a canine went viral
- The pup, called Edea, was showing off her new Halloween-inspired look
- But some followers thought that dying her fur was ‘cruel’

The leaves are changing, pumpkin spice lattes are back in Starbucks, and horror movies are dominating movie theaters – that’s right, we’re currently in the full throes of spooky season.
And while children and adults alike plan their outfits for Halloween, why shouldn’t our canine friends also be involved?
TikTok users were thrilled this week, when a video of a dog emerged – with a very unusual makeover.
The pup’s owner had gone full throttle for October 31, and had their pet’s fur groomed into the pattern of a skeleton for the holiday.
In a clip shared with his 2.6 million followers, internationally awarded dog grooming artist Gabriel Feitosa showed off the transformation.
The video of Edea, a poodle, racked up a staggering 59.9 million views, and 10.9 million likes.
“Edea would literally die for the apple chips, or maybe she’s already dead?” Feitosa joked in the caption.
The groomers fans went wild for the look in the comments.
“He doesn’t even know how cool he is, and that makes me sad,” said one, while another added, “The cutest little skeleton ever.”
“Does this spook other dogs? She’s so cute,” someone else said.
Others thought the dog bore an uncanny resemblance to some famous figures.
“Is that Phoebe Bridgers?” joked one, as another mused, “Aww it’s Zero from Nightmare before Christmas.”
And while many praised Feitosa’s handy work, some thought Edea deserved some credit for the transformation!
“People are not giving enough credit to the dog because that dog has to have the patience and dividends of a saint for sitting through that grooming session,” explained one.
Another agreed, “One time my sister tried dying and cutting our poodle just like this and gave up half way. We were black and white for six months.”
‘I literally screamed!’
However, not everyone was a fan of the look – with some claiming it to be cruel.
“I literally screamed. No, no, no,” one wrote. Another added, “No veterinarian would advocate coloring a dog’s fur. Even if certain dyes aren’t dangerous, the scent is unfamiliar to dogs. It’s unjust to subject them to this when they can’t communicate their unease.”
However, others insisted the practice was fine.
“Let’s be clear. This doesn’t harm the DOG. AT ALL. I just feel bad he doesn’t know how cool he looks,” said one, while someone else agreed,”Guys, he is okay, stop overreacting.”
