With anticipation growing for the launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Xbox has launched a custom Xbox series X – but fans will need to solve their own puzzle to get their hands on it.

Quest to find

Bethesda has made an Indy-themed Xbox Series X with a golden console – that mirrors the puzzle in the game – accompanied by a leather-effect controller with bejewelled buttons. Xbox says that more than 350 hours of craftsmanship went into creating the custom hardwear and a puzzle box that accompanies it.

While fans are surely going to want this it won’t be available in any shops. Instead, fans will have to go on their own quest and solve a puzzle to be in with a chance of getting their hands on it.

In another Xbox sweepstakes competition, fans will have several opportunities to enter. Firstly, fans can visit one of the Microsoft Experience Centers in London, Sydney or New York between November 12 and January 6 and solve a puzzle. There will also be a chance to win on Bethesda’s social channels, although the date that will go live hasn’t been announced yet.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is released on December 9 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game features a new Indiana Jones adventure where gamers control Jones in his quest to find the secret to an ancient power connected to the Great Circle. The action is set between the Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Crusade films. Troy Baker has taken on the role of Jones, rather than Harrison Ford, who plays the character in the films.

Latest special

This is the latest in a stream of limited edition Xbox consoles that have been launched. For instance, earlier in the year, a Spongebob Squarepants Xbox Series X was launched. It coincided with the launch of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 and included a custom-designed console inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants, showing off his iconic smile, Krusty Krab uniform, and ecstatic arms.
