- The show is guaranteed to return, even though season three doesn’t air until 2025
- Season three will be based on the book Persuader, the seventh in the Reacher series
- Star Alan Ritchson will be kept busy by this – even more so if he gets his wish to play Batman

While several shows on streaming services have been cancelled recently, one that isn’t is Prime Video’s Reacher, which has been renewed for season four even before season three has aired.
Big hit
The renewal is a vote of confidence for the show, although it has been one of Prime Video’s biggest hits of the past couple of years. Season two was Amazon’s most viewed release in 2023.
The news of the renewal comes days after Prime Video announced it had greenlit a Reacher spinoff series focusing on fan-favorite character Frances Neagley.
Season three of Reacher, which will see Alan Ritchson return as the titular hero, will air sometime in 2025 – no exact release date has been given yet. We do know that the series is based on Persuader, the seventh book in the series by Lee Child. In it, Reacher has to go undercover to rescue an informant, who is being held by an enemy from Reacher’s past.
Many of the cast from season two will return for season three, including Sonya Cassiday, Daniel David Stewart, Sten Anthony Michael Ball and Brian Tee. Child is an executive producer on the show, which has been written by Nick Santora.
Love to play
With work on Reacher stretching into the future, it should keep Ritchson busy. Although he could have more roles incoming. Earlier in the year he professed that he would “love” to take on the role of Batman in the upcoming James Gunn-helmed reboot of the DC Universe. There has yet to be an announcement about who will don the cowl in the film, so it may yet happen.
